Plan the views of your 3D solution for the presentation

From the helicopter view to the detail - 3 levels

With 3D model you have quite unlimited number of possible views. However, during presentation you have to describe solution time efficently and understandable with just couple of slides. But you have powerful weapon here: 3D model and this article!

Helicopter view - level 1

In the most cases you want to start describing solution with most general points. For that the best way is use Top 3D view (looks like 2D but gives perspective and depth of warehouse) or front Axonometric projection (fig. 1). With one of these views you can easily point out main solution assumptions like: storage methods, key areas, high level flow in the warehouse etc.

Area view - level 2

Going more into details, focusing on particular area, most efficient way is to use zoomed in view, showing total area. With this you will easily describe flow in the area, key features and technic used. Describing each area with such images will create a complete view of the solution.

Detail view - level 3

Depending on the complexity of the project, it may happen that in order to convince the client to his solution, it is necessary to go not at the level of the area, but even to its specific element. Focusing on a certain element is a great way to explain complex elements such as an automated solution or simply show off to your customer the level of detail of a 3D model!
